About Wendy

Wendy Fay was born and raised in the Boston area. She moved to the West when she was nineteen, and, like many, became a Westerner by staying. She has recently moved from Manitou Springs, Colorado, to Santa Fe.

She is a painter whose work emphasizes drawing and the nuanced beauty of oil paint. Her imagery depicts the subtle play between realism and abstraction. Her primary interest is in the landscape, though she continues to make still life works as well.

Her adult working life has been defined by creative, project-based work: teaching visual art, opening a toy store, designing outdoor classrooms, directing the Manitou Springs Arts Academy, integrating the arts in public schools and implementing large-scale collaborative projects with musicians, dancers, thespians and educators.

Wendy received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Art from Colorado College and studied painting at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston.
